R Kelly brought his Love Letter tour to Prudential Center on Thursday night.
The Love Letter, his newest album, is a throwback to the classic soul music of decades past. The tour continued the theme with a stage setup made to look like a big band bandstand from the 1940s. The show started with a short black and white film showing R Kelly in an old-style bar. When the film ended, the stage lights lit up “Kell’s Cigar Bar” on the side of the stage, with R Kelly sitting at a stool, lighting a cigar.
